vault hand-crafted cocktail lounge

March 7, 2017

Geis Hospitality Group to Debut A Hand-crafted Cocktail Lounge at The 9 Vault to open early spring featuring a premium lounge experience. The historic vaults beneath the Cleveland Trust Rotunda will soon be home to an upscale, hand-crafted cocktail Lounge, appropriately named ‘Vault’. Many Clevelander’s once knew this space as a nightclub, but that will soon change. Geis Hospitality Group, which oversees The 9 mixed-use complex, is launching an extensive repositioning of Vault, which will open this spring.

Geis Hospitality Group assumed management of The 9 in September 2015, about a year after the property opened. Since then, the executive team has vetted the different outlets within The 9 in terms of brand perception and overall service. “Vault was a space, that as a nightclub, did not fit the prestigious image of the building,” says Tony Quintal, Chief Operating Officer of Geis Hospitality Group. “We subsequently set out to create a concept that not only is a brand fit for us, but will also become Cleveland’s best hand-crafted cocktail lounge,” continues Quintal.

Vault will feature over 30 hand-crafted cocktails, all specifically fashioned by resident mixologists, exclusively for the new concept. House-made syrups, juices, tonic and ginger beer will contribute to the diverse creations within the cocktail menu. Vault will also feature an extensive spirit list focused on browns, in addition to upscale craft beer and wine offerings. To be ordered alongside the hand-crafted cocktails will be a small plates, shareable food menu. The food creations, designed by Chef Nelly Buleje, Executive Chef for The 9, are comprised of locally sourced meats, cheeses and produce. Extensive culinary technique, paired with bold flavors, creates an artisanal food selection including menu items such as Oysters Cleveland, a creatively redefined way of presenting Oysters. House-cured lamb pastrami also presents itself within the Lamb Pastrami Petites, served on local rye bread.

The spaces within the Vaults have been reconfigured to feature a warm and inviting lounge-style configuration, appropriate for small or large groups alike. Vault will be open Tuesday through Saturday, opening at 4pm each day. Applications for employment are now being accepted at the9cleveland.com.
